Shorty has taken part in both team and single-person sports most of his life. He is most passionate and experienced in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). His journey began at the early age of 4 when he enrolled in Shotokan Karate. After 12 years of training, Shorty slowly transitioned into MMA. At the age of 16, he was perfecting his skills at Combat-Do with the legendary hall of fame Judo and Jiu-Jitsu trainer, Master Bob Schirmer, who taught Shorty the arts of Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet-Kune-Do, Boxing, Kickboxing, Pankration, San Shou, Muay Thai, K1, and Wrestling.
Currently, Shorty is a brown belt rank in the Combat-Do (Judo/Jiu-Jitsu) training system. He is a recent graduate of McKendree University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Sports and Exercise Science.
